TOUR OF THE LEANING TOWER – TIPS AND PRECAUTIONS
This tour is not recommended to people suffering from heart or motor disabilities. For safety reasons, children under 8 will not be allowed on this tour. People under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Check at what time you can climb up the Leaning Tower. People who are late for the tour, for reasons unrelated to our organisation, will not be allowed on the Leaning Tower and their tickets will not be refunded. Before the tour, leave any bag/luggage in the cloakroom.
The tour lasts approximately 30 minutes. Visitors will be escorted by staff of Opera della Primaziale Pisana.
Cameras and video cameras may be used.
It is strictly forbidden to stand under the bells or strike them in any way.
Children do have to pay a full admission ticket to visit the Tower. Notice: for safety reasons, children under 8 years of age cannot visit the Tower. Please consult the instructions before visiting the Tower.
We are sorry, but we do not have any such service. Only if you book are we able to provide a designated area in Piazza del Duomo, where our skilled staff will entertain your children with an Educational Workshop.
Opera della Primaziale Pisana provides a checkroom, where you can leave your luggage while you visit the Tower. You must leave your bags/luggage there before you visit the Tower.
Wherever we could, we installed toilets in all monuments. They may be used only by visitors with tickets. However, in Piazza del Duomo, you can find public toilets, which are open while the monuments are open. Toilets are available for a small fee.
We do not have any such ‘dog sitter’ service in Piazza del Duomo. Do not forget that the monuments you are visiting are not just artistic attractions but they are above all places of worship: so please respect them and have your dog respect them too!
At the end of the day, our security staff and attendants will collect anything they find in the monuments or in the Square and will take them to our Offices in Piazza Duomo 17. Please contact our staff to see if we have found what you have lost.
Yes, you can. The lawns are an attractive place to stop and look at the monuments or to take a break. With just one exception: the lawn around the Cathedral.
If your photographs or videos are for your personal use you can take photographs or videos of any public place. For professional photographs/videos you will need a permit. Apply for one to info@opapisa.it
Go to the ticket office and show our staff a list of your student’s names on the school’s headed paper (minimum 10 students; 1 free entrance for the teacher), and you will get a discount. Click here for more details about prices.
